LEAKED AUDIO: Hillary Trashes Bernie Sanders Supporters

October 3, 2016

Hillary Clinton has a pretty low opinion of Bernie Sanders and his supporters according to audio recently released by The Washington Free Beacon.

In the audio, Clinton calls Bernie’s supporters bitter basement-dwellers:

They are children of the great recession and they are living in their parents’ basement. So if you’re feeling that you’re consigned to being a barista or, you know, some other job that doesn’t pay a lot and doesn’t have much of a ladder of opportunity attached to it. Then the idea that maybe, just maybe, you could be part of a political revolution is pretty appealing.

In addition to trashing his supporters, Clinton also called the Vermont Senators’ ideas “indefensible.”

Sanders responded to the hacked audio in a CNN interview on Sunday:

This kind of thing can usually be chalked up to some kind of control room error but make up your own mind. This is from last weekend’s episode of Iron Chef America:

Who Would Quote a Slave Owner?

January 15, 2007

MLKThe LA Times has gone all “PC warrior” on Arnold Schwarzenegger in celebration of Martin Luther King Day:

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, speaking today at a breakfast honoring Martin Luther King Jr., used the sentence “One man with courage makes a majority.” The governor uttered the familiar line without attribution, which is probably a good thing. It comes from former President Andrew Jackson, brutal Indian slayer and slave owner.

Well thank you LA Times for taking the Governor down a peg. How dare he quote an American President. But might I, before we pass judgement, throw another quote out there?

Was not Jesus an extremist for love — “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, pray for them that despitefully use you.” Was not Amos an extremist for justice — “Let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.” Was not Paul an extremist for the gospel of Jesus Christ — “I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.” Was not Martin Luther an extremist — “Here I stand; I can do none other so help me God.” Was not John Bunyan an extremist — “I will stay in jail to the end of my days before I make a butchery of my conscience.” Was not Abraham Lincoln an extremist — “This nation cannot survive half slave and half free.” Was not Thomas Jefferson an extremist — “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.” So the question is not whether we will be extremist but what kind of extremist will we be. Will we be extremists for hate or will we be extremists for love? Will we be extremists for the preservation of injustice–or will we be extremists for the cause of justice? In that dramatic scene on Calvary’s hill, three men were crucified. We must not forget that all three were crucified for the same crime–the crime of extremism. Two were extremists for immorality, and thusly fell below their environment. The other, Jesus Christ, was an extremist for love, truth and goodness, and thereby rose above his environment.

Wow! What kind of idiot would quote Thomas Jefferson? He was an evil slave owner wasn’t he?

Oh…that right…it was Martin Luther King Jr.

Terrorist Chic at Urban Outfitters

January 15, 2007

This one hits me close to home because, I’ll admit, I shop at Urban Outfitter. I’ve been aware of their politics for some time but this one takes the cake.

Urban is marketing a so-called “anti-war scarf” which looks suspiciously similar to the keffiyeh, popularized by Arch-Terrorist Yasser Arafat, and a favotire accessory of the terrorist Hamas organization.

I’m very diasapointed. I was alway willing to overlook the obvious liberal agenda of Urban Outfitter because CEO Richard Hayne is a staunch republican, but this one goes too far.

Feel free to shoot them a complaint.

update-3.jpg Urban has pulled the Anti-War keffiyehs. From the Jerusalem Post:

The scarves, also sold on-line, were priced at $20 in several different color combinations as part of Urban Outfitters’ Spring Fashion women’s accessories range. “Due to the sensitive nature of this item, we will no longer offer it for sale,” a notice on the Web site stated. “We apologize if we offended anyone, this was by no means our intention.”

Steyn: Blowing a ‘hinge moment’ of history

January 2, 2007

Mark Steyn puts it all in perspective in eloquent terms in yesterdays Jerusalem Post:

Whatever one’s views on capital punishment, that’s not what it’s about. Hardcore dictatorships have to be not just politically but psychologically liberated. When one man is so murderously powerful, incarceration cannot suffice – because as long as he lives there will always be the possibility that he will return. After all, we’re talking about someone who by definition has never been bound by any of the other restraints – personal, moral, religious, constitutional: why should a court sentence prove any more effective? When a dictator has exercised the total control over his subjects that Saddam did, his hold on them can only end with his death.

Read the whole treatment here. I’m officially making exceptions for dictators and mass murderers on my death penalty stance.
